To sharpen Fieldwork Orange carpenter pencils, use a utility knife to carefully whittle the wood away from the lead until it's exposed, then use sandpaper to refine the lead to a sharp point or chisel edge. You can also use a specialized sharpener designed for carpenter pencils, which may have a slot for both the lead and the graphite. Analog AF!
