Hands-down our favorite tear-off calendar for 2027 (and the only one we choose to carry). Dutch graphic designer Karel Martens creates a unique design for each day of the year. Originally constructed using his signature method of printing letterpress monoprints from found metal forms, he then digitizes the prints and creates 365 compositions in total. It's a hefty calendar, but you can save each day's design and re-use the paper to wrap small gifts or construct homemade envelopes (Karel would appreciate such resourcefulness!).

Karel Martens is a Dutch graphic designer, artist, and educator known for his experimental approach to typography and print. Since the 1960s, he has created everything from books and postage stamps to abstract letterpress monoprints made with found materials. Martens blends precision with play, often embracing chance and imperfection in his work. He co-founded the influential postgraduate graphic design program Werkplaats Typografie in the Netherlands, and has inspired generations of designers through both his teaching and his deeply thoughtful, hands-on design practice.
